Day 95

Today was a fun and a productive day.

I was able to connect up with my brother and his wife at Eggspectation, a breakfast place about a third of the way between Baltimore and D.C. Unfortunately, P was ill and wasn't able to share his good news with my brother directly.

P is the owner and creator of his own line of comics.
He just finished his first year, and decided to print the stories through a Kickstarter campaign.  Three cheers, he made goal and then some, and I was here when the first proof came in for the stories.

Because of my brother's level of support he got to select a piece of original art which he plans to display.

After the lovely brunch, we headed back to town to check in on P. One of the places he had hoped to show us was the CineBistro.  This is an upscale movies theater/restaurant.  As our wait person told us, they want to be the top tier theater/restaurant.  We had $12 mixed drinks and a $13 appetizer, so I think they hit their mark.  It is a nicer bistro pub type place. The seats were couch-like, the food not fried, and the services of the dining staff were provided up front so you wouldn't be disturbed during the film.

While at the theater we saw The Fate of the Furious, which in my humble opinion was one of the better Fast and Furious films.  Of course, no one will fill the place Paul Walker left in the film although they  have gone on in the seris without him.

The past few days in Baltimore have been cooler and damper.  Yesterday we carried umbrellas, although we were able to avoid them.

P  made his way from his sick bed to share a fun bit of television with us.  We are getting some chuckles and grins from a TV series called Trial and Error, featuring veteran actor John Lithgow.

We had Greek food delivered for dinner tonight. I had a salad and chicken shawarma, C had beef.  We also had some excellent cucumber sauce with actual cucumbers in it along with hummus.

It was nice to chill and not have a lot to do today.  Everything was laid back and relaxing.

Other than the terrible experience I had with the Johns Hopkins Fed Ex office trying to fax my severance documents, the customer service at all sorts of locations has been stellar. Folks out west, watch it - these folks outshine you by a million candle watts.

The service at CineBistro was five star, from the young man taking out ticket order, to the helpful attendants, to the wait staff.  It was lovely hearing several people thank us for coming.

If I did anything today that resembles dangerous living it was being okay to not have plans to fill the entire day.  Some days, I guess you just have to go with the flow.
